Tahoe Deployment (2010)
Meteorological and PM2.5 observations in the Tahoe basin to study inversion events.
Tahoe Inversion Study
We have deployed 8 meteorological stations to the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) to record wind speed and direction, temperature and relative humidity. The stations are deployed in two transects that go up the sides of the basin, starting at lake-level and ending near the crest of the basin. The lake-level stations are also recording PM2.5 concentrations. The data will be used by the Desert Research Institute (DRI) to assess fine-grid meteorological model predictions of winds and inversion events.
This project is funded by: The Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA)
